Fortunately, I came home without a scratch and have never spent time in the hospital.  I've had some out patient treatment and the system seemed to wook fairly well for me.  The disability claim process seemed a little slow but I've recieved approval for everything I've requested in less time than most of my friends.

I started out patient treatments about ten years ago for diabetes, PTSD, hearing loss, eye glasses and annual chekups.  I didn't use the VA for over 30 years because I had a job with regular insurance.  I didn;t think any of my health issues were related to my year in Vietnam until diabetes popped up ten years ago.  I went in for that and while I was there, I checked into PTSD and found I had all the symptoms.  That began a series of visits, counciling, medication and checks on other problems that were related to Vietnam.

I've found everyone to be polite and trying to do their job.  I have no coplaints with the VA.
