Did you really answer a question about whether you were a veteran of a particular war/conflict?  Or just of which era?  According to the Census Bureau, the question that was asked last time around was whether people had served during the "Vietnam era" defined as 1964 to 1975.  See www.census.gov/prod/2003pubs/c2kbr-22.pdf  Most people who served during that era did not serve in or near Vietnam.
