Some tips on how to conduct an Interview
- Write down your list of questions or topics on a piece of paper ahead of time.
- Make your question (s) as specific as you can.
- Read the list of "Frequently Asked Questions" that many of the volunteers have included and cut and paste from these lists before you ask questions.
- Click on the "Post" button located on the main forum page to access the interview "form"
- Fill in the "Subject" box on the form. Choosing a meaningful subject for your interview will result in the best responses from our volunteers.
- Put your full name or a nickname into the "Name" box
- Tell us a little about yourself: your school, the class you are writing this for, your age, etc.
- To request interviews from specific volunteers on the list ask for them by name. Others with interest or background in the area of your questions may still respond. It is very useful to get responses from several people in order to get different viewpoints.
- Provide an email address for follow-up responses.
- Write down your list of questions, one question per line.
- Don't wait until the last minute to request an interview.
- Give proper credit in your school paper or presentation.
- Give us some feedback on how the interview went and what grade you received on it.
- Check over the History of the Vietnam War -101 forum for questions related to the war's background and history.
