Vietnam War Interview Forum

An interactive forum for interviewing Vietnam Veterans and others who served in Vietnam and Laos during the war years

During the past few years those of us associated with the Vietnam Veterans Home Page have received many requests from students and others with questions about the Vietnam War. As the number of these requests grew we began to pass them along to a growing list of veterans and others to answer. It was also apparent that many of these students were not sure exactly what to ask or how to ask it.

The purpose of this page is to provide a means for students (and teachers) to "interview" men and women who served in Vietnam and Laos during the war years. This page contains a listing of Vietnam Veterans from all the services, other U.S. government employees who served in-country, and U.S. civilians who worked in a variety of jobs in Vietnam and Laos.

These interviews are usually conducted "on-line" using the forum below. This is the preferred method because it provides the fastest response and gives others the opportunity to see the wide range of interviews that have already been conducted. It also allows any others who would like to participate to do so. "Private" interviews can also be conducted with some of the volunteers individually using email or regular mail if those volunteers have provided an email or standard mailing address.

In some cases volunteers will give interviews to classrooms or other groups if they are in the geographical area of the student or teacher requesting an interview. Please use the administrative email address provided below or post a note on the forum if you are looking for veterans and others who will give talks to small groups within their local area.
