Born , in Opelika Ala. August 3,1947 , grew up in the state of Texas, graduated High Scool in Bandera, Tx. May of 1966, . I joined the Navy in a 60 day delay program in May of 1966, to avoid being drafted and not having a choice as to what I wanted to do and what branch of service I wanted to be in.

Went thru boot camp at Naval training center San Diego, Calif. I chose to be a Navy Corpsman when I enlisted , so I went thru Hospital Corpschool in San Diego also. After Corps school I was sent to F.M.F. training at Ocean Side Calif. . I then was assigned to Hospital ward duty at Balboa Naval Hospital until Nov. of 1967. I had thirty days leave , which afterwards I was sent to Viet nam.

When I arrived in Viet nam , I volunteered to be assigned to a Recon Unit . I was then sent to Delta co. 3rd Recon Battalion RVN . I served with two different recon teams while in Nam. One was Hungarian and the other was Dallas Girl. I was wounded April 5 ,1968 on top of Dong Ha Mountain . I was Medivaced back to the States, where I recouped from my wounds . How ever I will never have a full recovery from them . I now live in San Antonio, Tx. with my wife Rita , but am still being treated for PTSD and leg wounds recieved in Viet Nam. this is a short History on Myself , if you have further questions about the Viet Nam war or its affects on men and women whom served please post them on the interview site and I as well as other veterans will answer them to the best of our ability.
