I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1963, & wound up spending 4 1/2 years in the Corps. My first duty station after MCRD San Diego was Okinawa. I spent 10 months on the "Rock" undergoing Counter Insurgency training & when we were deployed to Vietnam, I was assigned to Hdqtrs Co., Hdqrtrs Bn, 3rd Mar Div MAF Forward at DaNang Airbase pulling perimeter security until the rest of the 3rd Division deployed from Okinawa.

We went to Vietnam in May 65, & were located right across from "Dogpatch." I wound up on various details to begin building fortifications around Hill 327, Marble Mountain, Monkey Mountain, & finally Chu Lai.

After the Marine Corps, I spent 25 years in business, then "re-careered," & returned to college for degrees in Psychology, & Human Services, & was hired by the VA as a readjustment counselor at a Vet Center in Illinois, then hired by DuPage County as a veterans counselor.

I'm presently a case manager/counselor with the County Government administrating the Shared Housing Program which provides me with the opportunity to find affordable or appropriate housing for homeless vets.
