Trying to locate: Red Cross worker from Ohio
Branch of Service: In-Country Non-Combatants
Unit was: Red Cross
Where served: Freedom Hill PX Red Cross office, DaNang
When served: 1970-1971

Message is: My unit was part of MAG-11, Da Nang, SVN. During the spring of 1970 you were invited to one of our steak cookouts. Although you would be really outnumbered, you graciously accepted the invite. I got permission to use the squadron's jeep to pick you up. My tour ended in June '70 when I rotated back to CONUS and my next duty station at NAS Pensacola. I called you in Ohio during Sept - Oct 1971 and found you had been back from Nam only a few days. We never did get together. Wondering where you are and what you're doing now. If you remember any of the events, send a reply ASAP via e-mail.

Trying to locate: Women veterans of Vietnam, Military + nonmilitary
Branch of Service: Other
Unit was:
Where served: In-country
When served: 1965-1973

Message is: Hi, this is for an Oral History of women who served in Vietnam during the war. It is for a class, but I am planning to carry the project further, and make a short film. Specifically, I am looking for women in the Cleveland area of Ohio, mainly to make my search easier. If I had the resources, I would expand the search to other areas, but unfortunately I don't. I know this is very general, but I don't have any sources at the moment, so I can't narrow the search to any names. If anybody out there can give me any help, please email me at ka97pa70@acs.wooster.edu

Message is: I am trying to locate George Yochk (I'm not sure about the last name). During the Vietnam war he was the boyfriend of my wife's aunt, whose name is Nguyen Thi Bich Sen. Until 1971 he stayed at the harbor in Qui Nhon, Vietnam, where he worked in a garage for repairs of cars and motorcycles. In 1971 he returned to the US for vacation for one month, and then he was sent to Somalia. From then on my wife's aunt never heard from him again.
